What does placing a crown involve?
If you have a damaged or cosmetically unappealing tooth, you are only two dental appointments from your dream smile. During the first appointment, we examine your tooth to determine if a crown is the best treatment. Then, we numb your mouth before removing a small amount of enamel around your tooth to create space for your crown. Next, we take your bite impressions and send the images to a lab technician to craft your custom-made crown. Before you leave, we’ll install a provisional crown to protect your prepped tooth.
During your second appointment, we’ll remove the temporary crown and clean your tooth before trying your new crown. If necessary, we’ll adjust your restoration to ensure it fits snugly and looks natural. If all is set, we use dental cement to bond your crown permanently to your tooth.
